Paul Brits Safaris is a family owned outfit operated by Professional Hunter and Outfitter Paul Brits and his wife, Belinda. We have a beautiful 10 year old daughter, Teneal. Together we make a great team and we pride ourselves in being personally involved in every aspect of your safari. We don’t book different groups in camp at the same time and hunters will personally be guided by me as their PH, together with a good friend as second PH if the need arises. Families or couples with non-hunters are also very welcome and they always enjoy the safari a lot. There is ample opportunity to take pictures and enjoy the scenery when they join the hunters on the hunt. They can also sleep in and relax at the lodge where Belinda will take care of all their needs – be it to arrange a massage or to take them shopping.
I come out of a family of hunters and have practically grown up in the bush. I was on my first lion hunt with my father in Botswana at the age of six. Hunting and the outdoors has always been a passion for me and after a short career as a lawyer I exchanged the law office for the bush and have been hunting professionally since 2000. I started doing freelance PH work for different outfitters and was then offered full time employment by Out Of Africa and stayed with them for five years. In 2006 Belinda and I started our own company and together we have grown it into a very reputable operation with many happy clients who bear testimonial to this. I have been fully qualified and licensed to hunt Dangerous Game for the last 16 years. I make a great effort to hunt ethically and respecting the client’s wishes according to the tradition of hunting and conservation.
Location and accommodation
Our main lodge is located in the Bushveld of the Limpopo Province in the world-renowned Waterberg Biosphere. It is a two and a half hour drive from the airport in Johannesburg where guests are picked up. The thatch-roofed lodge boasts a central lapa with dining area and a swimming pool to the side. The en-suite chalets are situated around the lapa and are fully serviced with a daily laundry service. The fireplace is where the true African atmosphere around the campfire compliments the magnificent sunsets while guests relax with a sundowner in hand and reflect on the experiences of the day. The lodge has all the comfort and luxuries of modern day living where you can enjoy our true South African hospitality and where the best quality meals will be served together with South Africa’s finest wines. We have hunting concessions that extend all the way to the Botswana border on the Limpopo River. A wide variety of bushveld species (including the Big 5) can be hunted in this area with its varied habitats – from tree savanna to riverine forests to broken terrain. We also have concessions in North West, the Free State and the Eastern Cape for species that don’t occur in our main area. We look forward to hosting you and to show you what Africa has to offer, not just in terms of hunting, but also in enjoying life on safari.
